Our Story
Sanïndou is a holistic African beauty and wellness brand. Inspired by a trip taken to her native country in 2017 on the West African coast, Guinea, our founder, Fanta, conceptualized creating a holistic and health-centered beauty brand that incorporates beauty practices of her ancestry and is inclusive to meet the needs of women around the world, especially melanin-rich women, without compromising overall well-being.
At Sanïndou, we create premium yet accessible skin and body care products without toxins or endocrine disruptors. According the the Environmental Working Group (EWG) over 60% of beauty products made for women in general contains toxic ingredients and over 75% of beauty products made specifically for black women contains harmful ingredients such as mercury, steroids, and phthalates, that cause adverse health effects.
We believe beauty should not come at the expense of health. Instead, we believe beauty should be holistic and inclusive of all aspects of one’s overall well-being.
We are on a misson to create a more equitable & enjoyable society through the fusion of health, beauty, culture, and community.

A note from our founder, Fanta
Thank you for visiting Sanïndou, welcome to the community! Sanïndou is my love note to every woman on the journey to self-acceptance, acknowledging occasional stumbles but celebrating the unwavering commitment to embracing one’s whole self. This community is an ode to the diverse women of the diaspora, defying stereotypes and refusing to conform to societal expectations.
Sanïndou is also an homage to the resilience of women globally, often unseen but deeply affected by prevailing beauty norms. It mirrors my beauty journey, honoring my 21-year-old self who battled PCOS symptoms for eight years due to Eurocentric beauty standards embedded in harmful beauty products, a common struggle faced by many black women.
In addition, Sanïndou reflects my admiration for the strength of my Bronxnite community members who, despite environmental challenges, are at the forefront of advocating for a more just society.
Lastly, Sanïndou is a love note to my Mandingo ancestors, whose legacy paved the way for its creation. Because after all, we are not our ancestors' wildest dreams but their expectations. We’ve always come from greatness; and Sanïndou is here to remind you of the greatness that lies within you.
